about

Our third album is an eclectic mash-up of styles-- from hip hop to roots reggae; from dancehall to dub; from electronica to raw punk-- start to finish Tortillas is a journey through the underground of California's sonic landscape. This album features original beats produced by IntoCognition and Mikey Cannon (formerly of the B-Side Players), as well as searing vocals from MC Karmic Basis, dancing keys from Ryan Tomizan of the Debonaires and more!

The core of BURNT for the Tortillas sessions consisted of Rob LaPorte (Drums, Percussion), Kathik Suresh (Bass), Joe Ransom (Lead Guitar, Bass) and Danny Franco (Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar, Bass)

The bulk of the music for Tortillas was recorded at Stems and Seeds Studio B in San Diego. An old store front on 30th Street in North Park, which served as both the living and working space for the band, is featured on the back cover.

Track Name: Pacified
high is my life
and my foundation
who shall i be afraid of

high is my life
and my foundation
who shall i be afraid of

what we gonna do with this here babylon
we go burn it down
what we gonna do with this here babylon
we go burn it down

all these people gonna die
'cause you won't devide the pie
you hide behind another lie
then you start to wonder why
none of us are satisfied
you can't keep us pacified
you can't keep us pacified
you can't keep us pacified

all these people gonna die
'cause you won't devide the pie
you hide behind another lie
then you start to wonder why
none of us are satisfied
you can't keep us pacified
you can't keep us pacified
you can't keep us pacified

now you can buy a nice life with credit
and be forever indebted to the system
freedom? forget it
your government's killin' innocent lives
why would you let it?
that's right i said it
you blame it on the beast but you fed it
and now regret it?
worry about the way the world is headed
and you fed up 'cause you got no cheddar
for super-unleaded just forget it
fuck it grow your hair out and dread it
'cause these walls of oppression only rise when we let 'em
so what we gonna do with this here babylon
we go burn it down
no pyromaniac no fucking around
burnt to the ground
this the new rebelious sound up in your town
and the zion lion's wearin the crown
so fuck your authority
wish the president could see me
with my middle finger up i point it at him on the t.v.
screaming evil
bush senior's saga sucks so we made a sequel?
pulled more stunts than evil kenevil to win the people
and we still got religious wars you'd think we was midevil
peaceful people in prison now 'cause ganja is illegal
but the freedom isn't out of our reach
i'm into cognition hope you listen when i speak or...
